Nairobi’s BBQ scene is getting a two-day experience at Sarit Centre on Friday, 30 October, and Saturday, 31 October 2026. Organised by BBQ Adventures & Events Kenya, the programme will bring together the businesses behind BBQ and the people who enjoy it, with Pitmaster’s Market Day opening the day before Family BBQ Festival 3.0, with the two events are designed to serve different purposes.
The Friday event will focus on the products, tools, equipment and brands that support BBQ, while Saturday will centre on food, entertainment and time spent with family and friends. Together, they offer visitors an opportunity to explore Kenya’s growing BBQ community from both an industry and lifestyle perspective.
Friday 30th Event: Pitmaster’s Market Day
Pitmaster’s Market Day takes place on Friday, 30 October, at Sarit Centre, Parking Lot C. Entry is free, making it an opportunity for BBQ enthusiasts, professional pitmasters, restaurants and food businesses to explore the products available to them without paying an admission fee.
The event is built around the businesses and tools that make BBQ possible. Visitors can expect to discover products across different parts of the BBQ supply chain, including meat products, spices, rubs and sauces. The showcase will also feature smokers, grills, kitchen accessories and packaging materials used by people working in the industry.

For anyone interested in outdoor cooking, the market offers a chance to explore equipment and learn more about the products behind different BBQ techniques. Visitors will also have the opportunity to interact with brands and businesses, ask questions about their offerings and discover solutions that could support their own cooking or commercial operations.
The event is not limited to professional cooks. BBQ enthusiasts who want to improve their skills or understand the equipment involved can use the opportunity to learn more about what is available in the market. Restaurants and food businesses may also find products relevant to their operations, whether exploring new ingredients or looking at equipment for their kitchens.
The idea behind Pitmaster’s Market Day reflects the growing interest in smoking techniques, outdoor cooking and specialised BBQ equipment in Kenya. As more people explore different approaches to preparing meat, there is greater value in connecting them with the businesses supplying the tools and ingredients behind the craft.
For participating brands, the market provides a platform to showcase products directly to potential customers. It also creates room for conversations with the people who use, purchase or recommend their products, helping businesses build relationships within the BBQ industry.
The event’s tagline captures this purpose: “Shop the Tools. Taste the Flavour. Build Your Pit.”
The longer-term ambition is to establish Pitmaster’s Market Day as a meeting point for the BBQ industry, where consumers can discover products while brands develop new business opportunities.
Saturday 31st Event: Family BBQ Festival 3.0
On Saturday, 31 October, the focus shifts from the products behind BBQ to the experience of enjoying it together. Family BBQ Festival 3.0 will take place at Sarit, Car Park C, bringing families, friends, food lovers, pitmasters and brands together for a day centred on food and entertainment.
This year’s theme, “Four Generations. One Venue. One Experience,” places family at the heart of the festival. The event is designed to welcome different age groups, giving families an opportunity to spend time together while enjoying food and discovering different BBQ flavours.
Visitors can expect a variety of BBQ offerings and smoked meats, with opportunities to meet and interact with pitmasters. Music and entertainment will add to the atmosphere, creating a setting where guests can enjoy the food while spending time with the people they came with.

For those looking for an enhanced dining experience, the festival will also feature a VIP all-you-can-eat option. This provides an additional way for guests to experience the food on offer during the event.
Family BBQ Festival is built around the idea that food can bring people together across generations. Rather than focusing only on what is served, the experience aims to create an environment where families and friends can share a day out, discover new flavours and make memories.
The festival also provides an opportunity for local pitmasters, food businesses and brands to connect with consumers in a setting where food is part of a wider social experience. For visitors, this means being able to explore different offerings while engaging with the people who help shape the BBQ scene.
The ambition is to grow Family BBQ Festival into a recognised destination for food, family and lifestyle experiences in Kenya.
