Bolt has launched Bolt Plus, a monthly subscription offering ride cashback, free delivery on eligible orders and priority driver matching for frequent users in Kenya. The service was unveiled on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at an event in Westlands, Nairobi.

Bolt Plus costs Sh280 a month. New subscribers get the first month free, then pay an introductory Sh119 a month for six months. An annual plan costs Sh899.

What members get

Subscribers earn 10 per cent cashback on every ride, credited to their Bolt Balance for use on future trips. They also get free delivery on eligible food and retail orders, saving up to Sh200 per order, along with faster delivery, priority driver matching and three free ride cancellations a month.

Bolt Food General Manager for Kenya Ivy Njeri Maingi said the product was built around how frequent customers already use the platform. “We looked at what our most frequent customers do every day, which is take rides, order food, and buy groceries, and asked how we could give them more in return,” she said.

Where it is available

Bolt Plus is available through the Bolt and Bolt Food apps. Ride-hailing benefits apply where Bolt operates, including Mombasa, Diani and Kisumu. Food and retail benefits apply in Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa and Diani. Maingi said the subscription is a permanent offering, not a limited-time campaign.

Who benefits most

Maingi said the value depends on how often customers use the platform and whether their rides and orders qualify. Frequent users will see more savings, while occasional users should weigh the benefits against the subscription cost.

Bolt said it will measure success by adoption and usage frequency.

“Frequency actually is the biggest indicator of success because people start using your platform more because barriers to entry have been reduced,” Maingi said.
